How serious is the issue of falls in the elderly?

   According to the 2018 Ministry of Health and Welfare's mortality statistics, the leading cause of accidental death above 65 years were (1) traffic accident (34.7/100,000), and (2) falls (25.7 /100,000). According to the 2017 National Health Interview Survey, the ratio of falls in adults 65 years of age or above was 1/6. Severe fall incidents will lead to long-term bedridden or even death.
