December 21:The 3,581st Cabinet meeting of the Executive Yuan reviewed and adopted the “Revised Tobacco Hazards Prevention Act.” The revised law introduced more stringent management of E-cigarettes, banned flavored cigarettes, expanded the use of pictorial warnings, expanded the ban on smoking in indoor public spaces, increased fines for repeat offenders, banned name sponsorship by tobacco firms, added legal and medical support and banned authorized advertising copying goods used for smoking.
