The Notice of Maximum Payment Limit of A Donor’s Expenses by the Recipient Couple is hereby promulgated as follows concerning the amount of money that a reproduction institute may pay to donors on behalf of the recipient couple for nutritional allowances, necessary testing, medical examination, loss of working time and transportation costs. This Notice shall take effect on January 9 of 2008.

Provisions of the Notice:
I. In accepting the donated reproductive cells, the recipient couple may pay to donors for necessary testing and medical expenses. The testing and medical expenses which are not covered by National Health Insurance shall be charged based on the charging standard set up by local Health Bureau; however, if any item has not been defined by the local Health Bureau, the reproduction institute may charge accordingly.
II. In accepting the donated reproductive cells, the recipient couple may, within the following limits of amount of money, commission the reproduction institute to pay nutrition allowances, loss of working time, and transportation expenses to the donor:
A.The sperm donor may be paid up to NT$5,000 NTD if he has completed the donation procedure. The payment may be increased if the donor has visited the clinic for more than 3 times However, the total payment for the donation procedure cannot exceed NT$8,000.
B.The egg donor may be paid up to NT$99,000 if she has completed the donation procedure.
